Pub crawls
Pub crawls are not only a tradition of ChemEng, but all student-run societies. The main reasons? The ease of organization and certainty of success, that's why!
For our merry lot there are 2 main crawls per year; The Unofficial and The Official (There are bound to be several other pub crawls going on throughout term time on top of these two). The former is usually sometime before Christmas Dinner whilst the latter is sometime before the Dinner Dance, either before or after the Spring Break.
We usually start a Chancellors Bar around 18:00 to wait for arrivals, and then depart around 19:00 (times may vary accordingly).

So what is the difference between the two pub crawls we host?
These relate to the shirts you will be wearing on the night (white or designed) and usually the first event will be needed to fund the second. The shirt designs are done by the students in the department, and the best one is chosen by The Committee for the occasion.
It is perhaps worth noting that other societies absolutely love organising pub crawls (firstly they lack in creativity for society events, and secondly their degrees are... well, let's not get into that), so if that's your thing you'll be able to find a group to tag along.
